The Role
As Senior staff designer I was responsible for managing 2 designers, overseeing 2 product verticals including the implementation of the design system and design libraries.

The team
Our 6 person design team was spread across 3 verticals with internal and external facing products. We had 3 libraries to support each vertical, they all pulled components from one “Base library”.

The Challenge
We grew our Base Library to make sure it could support each vertical and its libraries. We standardized all components across all applications and managed their implementation across different eng teams.

Part of our brand identity was a color transition from light to dark. All components had to work and be accessible with these three color palletes.

We ran design and engineering reviews for component implementation and QA in storyboard. We kept up with any new components that needed to be built through a dedicated UX jira board.

The Challenge
Sunrun’s sales teams needed a new application to support the end to end sales funnel of solar. Our goal was to redesign a legacy app that relied on heavy data pulled from Salesforce. We also needed an application that worked for different sales teams: door to door sales, retail sales and phone sales.

The research and process
First we needed to understand the different sales teams, the sales process and our customer journeys. We shadowed sales reps out in the field, did multiple interviews with sales teams, did focus groups, and sent out questionnaire forms. We performed user testing through rapid prototyping to validate our designs.

Our new app design was quickly adopted by the sales team. Sales managers and reps alike praised it easy of use.

It lowered their new recruit trainsince the new app was more intuitive and had more information to help the sales rep through their journey.
